Murder Mystery Party Games – The Solution To Your Tween Birthday Party

Recreation & Sports Blog

Tweens aren't always easy to read – one minute, they could be your best friend, and the next, you're back to being the lame parental unit that does nothing but ruin their life. So when it comes to planning a birthday party for a tween, things can become super tense and complicated. How do you plan a birthday party for a tween that doesn't even really seem to know what he or she wants? Here, you'll find a few ideas that can help you do just that.

Murder Mystery Party Games

Murder mystery party games aren't just for grown-ups. The truth is, there are some really great versions for people of all ages – you can find non-murder-based mystery games for younger kids, but for the tweens, the added excitement of solving a murder mystery party game for kids could be just what's needed to interest them in getting involved.

Look at all of the different options – maybe include your tween as you choose the game. There are many different themes – from westerns, to space adventures, and everything in-between. If you know what would make your tween happy, maybe you can surprise him or her with it – if not, let them choose to avoid getting blamed for making the wrong choice.

Add Adult-ish Décor

Tweens are at that age where they want to feel grown up, but they still enjoy many of the things that kids do. So to make this party a little different, consider adding a few things that you'd use for your grown-up parties.

Use things like plastic champagne flutes filled with sparkling cider and cloth napkins, and have dinner at an actual table – not a pizza party on paper plates served on a paper tablecloth and drinks served in paper cups. Adult the party up. Make some appetizers that look adult-like, but only include foods that the kids like – for example, pizza bites on crackers. Make them look fancy, but they'll be delicious because the kids will know what's on them.

Get Some Help

Depending on how many kids attend, you'll probably want some help keeping an eye on everyone. Tweens can be adventurous, and if you're including boys and girls in the party, you'll have to pay especially close attention to the few that might wonder off. Extra eyes will help you do that!

Tween parties are different than teen parties and kids' parties – this is the age where they're kind of stuck in the middle. Hopefully, this party idea will help your tween feel more grown up while providing them the entertainment that the kids inside still love.

Zip It Up: Zip Line Jumping 101

The very first time I put on the harness for a zip line excursion, it was a life-changing moment. As I took the leap of faith and watched the world pass beneath me, I was awestruck. I knew right away that it wouldn't be the last time. I have spent my free time since then studying different zip line methods and locations to see what other experiences I might be able to enjoy. I created this site to show other zip line enthusiasts, and those curious but not yet experienced, to learn what I have about the options out there. I hope that the information here encourages you to get out there and give it a shot.
