What Should Your Deer Hunting Backpack Have In It?

Recreation & Sports Blog

Regardless of whether you are going hunting in the open woods or an enclosed safari ranch, you are going to want to make sure that you have a backpack full of the essential gear so that you can ensure your trip is as successful as possible. Apart from your camo clothes and your rifle, bow and arrow, or crossbow, there are some other pieces of gear that you are going to need before you go hunting for deer. Keep reading to learn a few of the essential hunting accessories that you want to pack into your backpack.

Multi-Purpose Knife

This type of knife can prove to be useful in a number of situations, including cutting a piece of rope to skinning some deer meat. You will want to make sure that you take along a knife that has several different types of blades, such as a utility blade, saw, and boning blade. Don't forget to pack a sharpening device as you never know when you may need to sharpen your knife.

Binoculars

If you're going hunting, you must have a pair of binoculars on hand. Deer can be easily frightened, so you will need to track them from a distance or you won't find much success. With binoculars, you will be able to do just that. Try to get your hands on a compact set that will be easy for you to carry around and will not get in your way.

Headlamp

Depending on what time of day that you are going to be hunting, you may or may not need a headlamp, but it never hurts to have one in your pack just in case. Make sure to have a backup as well. You should look for a headlamp that has a combination of an LED light and a dull red light so that you can walk around the woods undetected with ease.

Rain Gear

While you can track the weather all week long and the weather person says it is going to be dry when you are hunting, there is always a chance that a stray thunderstorm could pop up. With that being said, make sure that your backpack has some rain gear in it. Even if it does not end up raining, the rain gear can help protect you from a potential drop in the temperatures and the wind.

If you don't think you are quite ready to venture out on your own completely into the woods, you may want to consider a hunting safari ranch in your area to go whitetail deer hunting at. In either case, some of the aforementioned gear will help you out.

Zip It Up: Zip Line Jumping 101

The very first time I put on the harness for a zip line excursion, it was a life-changing moment. As I took the leap of faith and watched the world pass beneath me, I was awestruck. I knew right away that it wouldn't be the last time. I have spent my free time since then studying different zip line methods and locations to see what other experiences I might be able to enjoy. I created this site to show other zip line enthusiasts, and those curious but not yet experienced, to learn what I have about the options out there. I hope that the information here encourages you to get out there and give it a shot.
