Going On A Fishing Charter? Know What To Take With You

Recreation & Sports Blog

Have you decided to go on a fishing charter for the very first time, but you really do not know what to take with you? It will help to follow these tips to ensure that you are prepared for what is to come.

Cooler

You'll want to take a small cooler with you so that you have everything you need to stay hydrated. Make sure to bring plenty of water so that it is ready to go since you'll be out under the sun for a very long time. If you are going to be out for a longer period of time, make sure to take a snack with you as well.

Motion Sickness Medication

Even if you are not the type of person that gets motion sickness, it's a good idea to have motion sickness medication with you. You will be on the fishing charter for a while, and you want it to be an enjoyable experience where you are not sick the entire time. If you have the medication on hand, you'll be well prepared in case the water is really rough. The charter is not going to turn around if you are the only person that's feeling sick.

Cash

It's always a good idea to have cash on hand so that you can tip the crew that is working on the charter boat to make your experience great. It's easy to forget cash at home and then have no way to tip the crew, so be sure to bring some with you.

Camera

Part of the experience of going on a fishing charter is catching that really big fish, but did it really happen if you do not have photographic proof? Make sure that you have a camera on hand to take some pictures. If you want to leave your cell phone back on dry land, take an old point and shoot camera with you so that you do not feel bad if you lose it or it gets wet.

Sun Protection

You are going to be out in the sun for quite a while, so you want to dress correctly to protect yourself. Bring a hat and sunglasses so that you have the protection you need to cover your face. In addition, don't forget your sunscreen to cover the areas that are exposed.

Warm Clothes

Know that it can get cold on the water, so bring some warm clothes as well. Having a light jacket or long sleeve shirt on hand can make you feel more comfortable, and you don't have to wear it unless it's necessary.

Zip It Up: Zip Line Jumping 101

The very first time I put on the harness for a zip line excursion, it was a life-changing moment. As I took the leap of faith and watched the world pass beneath me, I was awestruck. I knew right away that it wouldn't be the last time. I have spent my free time since then studying different zip line methods and locations to see what other experiences I might be able to enjoy. I created this site to show other zip line enthusiasts, and those curious but not yet experienced, to learn what I have about the options out there. I hope that the information here encourages you to get out there and give it a shot.
